BioClear is a type of dental bonding that uses tooth molds and a special type of dental composite to enhance your smile. Basically, Dr. Jennifer Chew will place a special mold around your tooth, then inject composite material to reshape it and enhance its appearance.
The end result is a tooth that looks and feels natural. Whether you have gaps between your teeth, uneven teeth, misshapen teeth, or any other common cosmetic problem with your smile, BioClear may be just what you need to enhance your smile without removing any of your natural tooth material.
BioClear was first developed in 2007 by Dr. David Clark.

There’s no need to remove healthy tooth structure with BioClear, unlike with porcelain veneers and dental crowns. Preserving your natural tooth material should always be your top priority, and BioClear makes it easy to protect your enamel.
Compared to porcelain veneers and crowns, BioClear is much less expensive. The treatment process is simple and doesn’t involve a dental lab, so it’s a much more cost-effective treatment. If you’re on a tight budget but want to restore your smile, BioClear is a great choice.
Veneers and crowns take multiple appointments spread across several weeks. But with BioClear at Nest Dental, you can get the treatment you need in just a single appointment, even if you’re treating multiple teeth.
To begin the treatment process, our team will clean your teeth to remove any biofilm. If necessary, we will also numb your mouth and remove decayed enamel from the tooth at this time.
Once your tooth has been prepared, a special tooth-shaped form called a “matrix” will be placed around the tooth. Basically, this form helps create the shape that the composite resin will take once it’s in place.
Next, Dr. Chew will inject an advanced dental composite material into the form that’s placed around your tooth. The composite will flow into the form, filling up the gaps and imperfections in your smile. Then, she will use a UV light to activate the resin and cure it.
After the composite resin is hard, Dr. Chew will remove the form from your tooth. She will examine the results, and make any final adjustments to the tooth to make sure that it fits into your mouth properly. Then, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your new smile.
Compared to traditional composite bonding that lasts 5-10 years, the unique treatment method used by BioClear provides better durability. BioClear treatment usually lasts between 15-20 years.
This means that BioClear treatment can easily last as long as a porcelain dental veneer or a dental crown. And, if your tooth is ever damaged again in the future, it’s easy to repair it and restore your smile.
